Chimayó has gone without a dedicated post office since the old one burned down a year ago, with residents forced to go to Santa Cruz to retrieve their mail.
Meanwhile, the Chimayó post office — destroyed in a fire last February — appears to still be in limbo.
Investigators are unsure of the fire’s source and ignition material, the report said. The fire marshal’s office did not respond to multiple requests for interviews.
