Tops Friendly Markets has acquired five stores operated by franchisee Supermarket Management, Inc., including the South Transit Road, Lockport-based Tops market.
Aldi: New stores in Mississippi and Texas
The purchase includes four full-service stores and a Tops Xpress in the greater Buffalo, New York, area previously run by a longtime franchise partner.
The stores do three to four times more volume on a per-store basis than the average corporate-owned Tops store, said retail expert Burt Flickinger.
