kimberly, bob, thank you very much. stick around. more with you later on, the global fight against isis. now i want to turn back to the united states and the fact there are 15 million people in this country right now under the threat of severe, possibly deadly weather. parts of the south recovering from tornado damage, heavy flooding, much more could be on the way. the same time as a major winter storm is about to slam the southern rockies. karen mcginnis is in the cnn severe weather center, all of this on top of it you have kbey on an active tornado watch right now. >> we do. 7 million people inside the tornado watch that goes until 8:00 local time and encompasses a good portion of southeastern oklahoma and into the metroplex of dallas. we've already had two reports of confirmed tornado touchdowns. they were in fairly rural areas, but outside of those major metropolitan areas, outside of dallas, also just outside to the
15, 16 inches of rainfall in some cases. take a look at this. there were hundreds of high water rescues and as george mentioned, the death toll is going up. several tornadoes, the national weather service in eastern texas reported about eight tornado touchdowns. injuries reported. lots of damage. there you can see most of it was structural property damage. we did have some reports of injuries, but no fatalities. these tornadoes were rated from ef-0 to ef-2 that. would be a maximum wind of about 115 miles an hour. now, our tropical cyclone, different part of the world the arabian peninsula, it looks like, george, we will expect years of rainfall. some of these areas don't see more than 4, 5 inches of rainfall the entire year. they could see double or triple that amount in the next several days. back to you.
