First-round leader Marcus Byrd birdied the par-5 18th hole with a four-foot putt to edge Rafa Guerrero Lauria by a single stroke and claim his first professional title at APGA Tour New Orleans on the prestigious TPC Louisiana layout Tuesday.The 23 year-old Nashville resident survived a double-bogey on the 10th hole and seven consecutive mid-round birdies by Guerrero Lauria, whose six-under 66 was the round of the day. Playing with Byrd in the final group, Guererro Lauria bested par on 8 through 14 to pull into a tie for the lead with four holes to play. Byrd took a one stroke lead with a tap-in birdie on 15 and then secured the win when both players birdied the final hole ....

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Drew Brees walked into the TPC Louisiana Wednesday looking like a guy that enjoying his retirment.
Brees teamed up with his now former head coach Sean Payton for the Zurich Classic Pro-Am. They’ve played in this event multiple times over the years. But this will be the first one where Brees won’t be back as Saints starting quarterback.
I know I’ll miss it,” Brees said. “Honestly it’s a big reason why I took the opportunity to sign with NBC, be a broadcaster for Notre Dame games for Mike Tirico and do the in-studio work for Football Night in America to stay connected with the game, to stay connected with the coaches and the players and all those relationships I’ve been able to build ....
