Just months after Trader Joe’s announced that it would temporarily increase its “thank you” pay to hourly crew members to $4, the grocery chain is purportedly cutting that bonus by half.
After only three months, the company announced that on May 1st they will take away our additional two dollars, and we fear the rest of the ‘Thank You Pay’ is soon to follow, the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee wrote on coworker.org. The online petition is asking that the $4 “thank you” pay remain permanent. ....

COVID-19 Vaccine Incentives May Help Deter Vaccine Hesitancy In Kentucky

Kentucky needs to vaccinate at least another half million people in order to reach the goal of 2.5 million fully vaccinated Kentuckians set by Governor Andy Beshear. Edie Greenberg with member station WKMS reports some local businesses are offering incentives designed to entice more people to get their shots.
 There are three types of people Billy Pitts said he needs to reach as public health director of Marshall County, where 23% of the county was fully vaccinated as of April 19.
First: those who want a vaccine. Pitts said many of those people have been calling health departments since December 2020, trying for their chance at a vaccine. ....
