In fact is the final location of the aircraft, i m not so interested in what as why something like that would happen. if you have a conscious action when communication is lost in the transponder is turned off, how do you then get to an unconscious situation five or six hours later. i m having some difficulty coming up with a scenario that would piece all of these facts together into a coherent whole. do i think that they are unconscious? if i said yes, then why did the airplane turn initially off of its preprogrammed course? if it did turn off because of human intervention, then why did they subsequently go unconscious? there s a lot of questions in there that are not so much physical as psychological. comment, if you would on what we know so far on the one hand, ....

When they saw the course had been changed. i assume the course is that dramatic left turn instead of just heading straight to beijing. they are probably waiting to hear from the pilots. if this turns out to be something like a fire in the center pedestal that knocked out the transponder and the acars, it s going to knockout the other communications. they are located in the same area and getting back to what mary said, because we are not hearing chatter and claims of responsibility, people are not going to ground, sometimes it disappears. if that disappeared, that would raise suspicions. because there is no changes that i hear from my friends and my contacts, my guess is this is probably a crash. as a result we need to continue the search and rescue efforts. if it turns out to be not a chunk of the airplane, we are still in the general vicinity where we need to look from the data points. we can only continue to find ....

Anything mechanical or electronic, it may give out false or erroneous signals. last thing we want to do is transmit an incorrect altitude or position of aircraft back to air traffic control or or aircraft. can you see the obvious safety ramifications of that. if we become aware of erroneous data transmitted by the transponder, obviously the solution is simply to turn it off so that erroneous data is not transmitted. as we re looking for falk, what data could be out there that could help us at this point? your previous guest talked about the possible other primary radar from other militaries in the vicinity. civilian radar does a wonderful job of tracking civilian aircraft but they depend pretty heavily on that tropical depressioner to do that. military radar systems, on the other hand, a little more sensitive, a little more stronger, do a much better job of tracking aircraft that may not have a transponder on board ....

Up toward beijing and can see on this a yellow dotted line which is the initial and traditional flight path of a plane going to beijing. at 1:19, the co-pilot made a very routine check-in with air traffic control basically around here and said everything is fine, good night. after that, two minutes after that they turned off the transponder, piece of equipment that tells the ground where it is and some time in that same period they turned off the acar system and they turned off the acar system which also sends data back to the base and they also reprogrammed the flight control so the flight management system to tell it to go to the different way point which is a turn to the left. he makes his radar report. the transponder goes off and the plane makes unscheduled turn to the left and they lose radar ....
