Mildred Fay (Wise) Laughlin, 93, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, surrounded by family. Graveside Services for Mildred will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Trickham Cemetery with Rev. Carol Roberts and Rev. Joan Graves La Barr officiating; there is no set visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Mildred was born December 13, 1927, the daughter of Clifton and Irene (Pearce) Wise in Brookesmith, Texas. She graduated valedictorian of Brookesmith High School in May 1945. Mildred married her high school sweetheart, U.S. Army Private Billy Roy Laughlin, who was training for the land invasion of Japan. The two were seventeen and eighteen when they wed and were married over 63 years when he died. They loved and cared for three children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
