Amy Tran Russell was elected to the Vacaville Unified School District Board of Trustees Area 6 seat after leading the early vote tally in the special vacancy election held Tuesday. Russell led the final unofficial count released at 8:42 p.m., with 834 votes. Opponent Tracee Stacy received 694 votes at that time. Russell led with 739 votes to Stacy’s 631 of the mail-in ballot count, which were released shortly after polls closed at 8 p.m. A total of 1,531 ballots were cast, about 18.68 percent of registered voters in Area 6. Lindsay Kelly is expected to be named to the Vacaville Unified School District Board of Trustees Area 4 seat, after leading the vote tally in the special vacancy election held Tuesday. As of 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, when the Solano County Registrar of Voters released their most recent vote totals, Kelly remained ahead with 454 votes. […]

At press time, unofficial ballot numbers showed McCallum leading Kelly by a mere 14 votes out of 906 cast.
