As some of the deadliest violence in years erupted last week between Israel and Palestinian militants, hundreds of demonstrators were drawn to Midtown Sacramento on Sunday for what organizers called a Free Palestine march.
It s a beautiful thing; it kind of reminds me of Black Lives Matter, Emad Marini said, who, like many others in the crowd, identifies as a Palestinian American. 
While many in the crowd arrived draped in the colors of the Palestinian flag, it was a diverse group of supporters.
It makes me feel good, knowing we are supported and that people did not come here simply because they re Arab or they re Muslim, Noor Sulaiman said. They came here simply because they are fighting for justice and human rights. ....

Ohio on Sunday reported just 618 COVID-19 cases, the fewest in a day since last August. As of Sunday, just over 42% of Ohio’s population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, and around 37% are fully vaccinated.
