Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer Donates $155,000 to Cancer Groups

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The people behind the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer have donated $155,000 to eight different cancer organizations throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
The money was split between HSHS St. Vincent/St. Mary’s Foundaton, Bellin Health Foundation, Unity Hospice, HSHS St. Vincent’s Child Life, Colton’s Cure, Ovarian Cancer Community Outreach, Ribbon of Hope Foundation, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The money was raised on last year’s ride.
Dixie Kinnard is with Vandervest Harley-Davidson, she says the money goes to organizations that work to make things easier for cancer patients.
“It will be for different things, like sometimes child life, for example, will ask for money to buy equipment, like it might be a video game that kids can play while they’re getting treatment.” explained Kinnard. “One year they had where they would make superhero capes a ....

GREEN BAY, Wis. Irma Reynolds Lyon, 91, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2021. Irma was born on April 22, 1929, in Reedsburg, Wis. to Fyrl and Ruby (Mundth) Reynolds.
After schooling in Reedsburg, she attended the University of WI-Madison School of Applied Music, graduating in 1951 with high honors. She developed her beautiful contralto voice during her time there as well as mastered the piano, violin, bassoon, and pipe organ.
Shortly after school, Irma auditioned with Dr. Leo Sowerby, a prominent composer, music director, and organist for the Saint James Episcopal Cathedral on Rush Street in Chicago, Ill. She was hired on the spot to sing as a member of a paid vocal quartet, performing at Sunday worship services and other special events. Irma also traveled to New York City and sang with the St. Norbert Dudley Birder Chorale. ....
