Minnesota Dog Rescued From Northern Minnesota Cliff After Falling
A long weekend, in terms of days, took a different meaning this weekend as time seemed to drag on for Julian Stanke and his dog after the 1-year-old Springer Spaniel fell down a cliff onto a ledge 30 feet below Sunday afternoon in Northern Minnesota. The story ends with a happy ending as the dog was rescued, but only after spending the night cold and wet perched on the ledge, as Stanke looked for assistance to rescue his beloved pet.
 
According to a Facebook post to the Superior Hiking Facebook Page Stanke's story played out in almost real-time as people saw Julian's post about his dog and offered well wishes and or assistance or gear.

‘We do not have guns, or missiles, we do not have anything to protect ourselves with,’ says Nadeen Abdullatif.
Nadeen Abdullatif, a 10-year-old Palestinian girl, survived a bombing in Gaza's Al Shati camp and gave her account of the Israeli attack.
"You see, I do not really sleep well at night these days. I heard missiles and the missile that destroyed this house was so loud that my bedroom window almost broke," Abdullatif said in a video shared by Turkey's broadcaster TRT World on Twitter on Sunday.
"We do not have anything, we do not have guns or missiles. We do not have anything to protect ourselves with. We only have the power of God with us," she said in the video.

Renowned journalist Absar Alam survives assassination attempt
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Renowned journalist and former chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Absar Alam has survived an assassination attempt, unidentified suspect shot him near his house.
According to sources, Absar Alam was shot while walking near his residence in F-11 Park an area of Islamabad, unidentified shooter escaped after firing. 
According to police, Absar Alam was shot in the abdomen and has been shifted to a private hospital where his condition is out of danger.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry condemned the incident in a message on Twitter, adding that the police had been asked to investigate the attack.
