The family of Leon Garcia is asking the community for help following the accidental death of their son on Wednesday. Wednesday, 24-year-old Leon Garcia, a lifelong Killeen resident and a 2014 Shoemaker High School graduate, suffered a head injury and died after exiting his motherâs vehicle while she was driving him to a driverâs license appointment. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 1:46 p.m. âI know he meant to not kill himself,â Sandra Garcia told the Herald Wednesday. âHe probably thought he was going to roll like those stunt people on TV, but it doesnât work that way. This is a lesson for people â jumping out of a car doesnât always end up with a few scrapes and bruises.â
