2. Producer V Doraswamy Raju passes away: Telugu film producer V Doraswamy Raju passed away on January 19 due to cardiac arrest. Many celebs from the industry took to Twitter and paid tribute to the noted producer. Jr NTR tweeted, "The news that Doraswamy Raju is no more is very sad. His services to the Telugu film industry as a producer and distributor are unforgettable. His role was crucial in the success of Simhadri. Popular Telugu producer V Doraswamy Raju breathed his last today and the Telugu film fraternity is deeply saddened by the same. Doraswamy Raju produced films under VMC (Vijaya Malleswari Combines) Productions banner. As a distributor and a producer, Doraswamy Raju scored multiple hits. Simhadri is the last biggest hit in the production house.
Director Rajamouli and Jr NTR who will always cherish the success of Simhadri turned emotional with the demise of the senior producer. Taking to social media, they shared their association with Doraswamy Raju.

Noted Telugu film producer V Doraswamy Raju died at a super-specialty hospital here on Monday following a cardiac arrest. Raju, 74, was admitted on January 16 with health issues and the end came at 8.20 AM, hospital sources said. Raju, also a film distributor, produced several successful films, including 'Annamayya', 'President gari pellam', 'Kirayi Dada' (all with Nagarjuna), 'Sitaramayya gari Manavaralu' with legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao and 'Simhadri' with junior NTR.
'Annamayya', a film on the life of renowned saint composer Tallapaka Annamacharya, is considered a memorable film in Telugu cinema. 'Sitaramayya gari Manavaralu', released in 1991, had won numerous awards.

V.Doraswamy Raju, founder of the VMC Organizations (VMC Productions, VMC Pictures, VMC films, VMC1 Company, VMC film Distributor, VMC picture palace) died of cardiac arrest on Monday morning in Care hospital, Banjara hills. He was not only a film producer but also an Ex MLA Nagiri, TTD Board Member, Film Chamber president, Distribution council President, Exhibitors association president. He was one of the most successful Telugu film producers, distributors and exhibitors in Andhra Pradesh. He produced block buster movies, award winning movies, Tele films, Tele serials, Tamil dubbing and Hindi dubbing films.
