Pennsylvania is making all residents 16 and older eligible to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine beginning Tuesday, according to Governor Tom Wolf. That's nearly a week earlier than originally planned.
This announcement does not include Philadelphia, which receives its own allocation of vaccine and sets its own rollout timeline.
"We need to maintain acceleration of the vaccine rollout, especially as case counts and hospitalization rates have increased," Wolf said. "Therefore, just as President Biden has brought forward universal adult access to vaccines from May 1 to April 19, we are moving Pennsylvania's timeline of universal adult access to April 13."

After a lot of back and forth with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Delaware County's hard fight has paid off.
A large-scale drive-thru community vaccination clinic is set to open this weekend at the Delaware County Community College for as long as needed.
The county has gone from famine to feast when it comes to COVID vaccine supply.
"We're very excited about that. This week we're going to do about 4,500 doses over the weekend with the site, which has a maximum capacity of about 6,000 a day," said Dr. Monica Taylor, vice-chair of Delaware County Council.

PA COVID: Philadelphia suburbs report disparity in progress on vaccine delivery

An analysis by the Action News Data Team shows some of Philadelphia's suburban counties are being vastly short-changed on vaccines.
"We got just about 10,000 vaccine doses today, which is the most we've ever gotten in a week," said Councilman Kevin Madden.
In Bucks County, Commissioner Bob Harvie reports they also received about 10,000 doses for this week.
"We've been told the amount we get next week will be pretty much what we get a month or so after that," said Harvey.
The problem is they haven't been told how much they'll be getting, so they can't say if they will be able to have all the people vaccinated in Phase 1A by the end of March.

PA COVID: Philadelphia could reach herd immunity rates by summer, Dr. Farley says

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- As we see the reopening of ballparks, expanded guidelines for dining, and relaxed travel restrictions, Action News asked, "When will people feel fully protected once again? When will we return to 'normal' as we once knew it?"
For Sheila Walker from Lawncrest, vaccinated or not, she won't be removing her mask or traveling by air anytime soon.
"In order to take the mask off and branch out like it used to be? About another year," said Walker.
"I think it's still got at least a good six months or more to go," said Alan Herrera of Fishtown. He says he can't wait to get fully vaccinated and fly to visit his grandchildren.

"Definitely a sense of relief," said Andrew Ehala, one of the Mount Holly Township School District teachers who got vaccinated at the Rite Aid on West Main Street.
Like mostly everyone else, teachers and administrators had been living on edge, fearful of contracting the dreaded virus that has taken so many lives. So when Rite Aid reached out to the district offering the vaccine, many rushed to sign up.
