New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): Work is being done on genome sequencing of coronavirus and mutations and the repercussions and this virus is more aggressive than others, German Ambassador to IndiaWalter J Lindner has said and noted that countries have to come together to fight the pandemic.
In an interview with ANI, the Ambassador also talked about big oxygen generation plant with the capacity of 4,00,000 litres of oxygen being set up by Germany in Delhi. ....

New Delhi, May 7: India is mopping up medical equipment and supplies from friendly countries across the world as the Covid-19 second wave devastates the country. European countries, along with support from the European Union (EU), have been especially helpful in providing long-term and sustainable medical technologies to India.
On Thursday, the Italian embassy started an oxygen plant at the ITBP hospital in Greater Noida, near Delhi. The plant, which can provide oxygen to more than 100 Covid patients simultaneously, was installed in just 48 hours. ....

Indian Army: Armed forces recalling medical officers from key bases for deployment at COVID care facilities


As India battles a calamitous second wave of COVID-19, the armed forces are taking a series of measures like recalling doctors and other medical staff from key bases to help civilian authorities deal with the sudden surge in coronavirus infections.
Medical officers posted with various recruiting offices, National Cadet Corps and on staff appointments are also being recalled for their deployment in areas witnessing high caseloads, officials said.
In another move to increase the availability of doctors, the defence ministry on April 23 announced giving extension till December 31 to all the Short Service Commissioned doctors in Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) who were due for retirement. ....

The plant, capable of generating 4,00,000 litres of oxygen a day, is being sent to India through 2 aircraft of the German Air Force and is expected to arrive here by end of this week.

New Delhi: Germany is now sending a “massive” oxygen generating plant, which will be operated by 12 of its armed forces’ paramedics, in an effort to address the oxygen crisis in India, ThePrint has learnt.
The team of paramedics arrived in New Delhi Saturday and will assist Indian medical personnel and experts in operating the giant oxygen generating plant.   ....
