The Great Wolf Lodge at Foxwoods celebrates a construction milestone as Connecticut's outdoor water parks gear up for a busy season.

Connecticut has almost 300 miles of shoreline, and an abundance of lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams, but waterslides? Nope.

When the Connecticut weather is quite a bit warmer, Lake Compounce will have a new way for its guests to beat the heat: Storm Surge.

Bristol amusement park Lake Compounce has revamped its lighthouse water slide attraction for visitors this summer. The enclosed slide, now known as “Storm Surge,” will feature 30 changing color lights, four speakers and “new thrills,” designed to create a more immersive and engaging experience, park officials said. Lake Compounce is also opening a new eatery, the Lakeside Café, next to the Venus Vortex water slide over the Memorial Day weekend. The café will serve chicken tenders, fries, salads, hamburgers and veggie burgers.
