Joe served as an educator to thousands of Rutherford County students over the years, teaching General Science, Ecology and Biology at Oakland and Riverdale High School.
Murfreesboro City School Board Chair Butch Campbell said, “Joe Nunley....WOW !!! What an educator and amazing person. Joe was the rock for many young students as well as many colleagues. A much-respected educator and person, and I enjoyed always talking to him at MTSU ballgames and anywhere I saw him. An ICON of the teaching profession!”
