Some soldiers and policemen were on Sunday involved in a face-off in Ogun State, SaharaReporters has gathered. This occurred when the police officers attempted to arrest a suspected female drug dealer (name withheld) in Arepo but the attempt was frustrated by the military men. SaharaReporters gathered the policemen from Warewa station in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state had raided the woman’s shop and arrested her. She was said to have been arrested with different illicit drugs.

  The European Centre For Law and Justice (ECLJ) has stated that Nigeria and Pakistan have some of the harshest laws against blasphemy worldwide, while condemning the violence, abductions and deaths which have been caused by alleged blasphemy in both countries. The ECLJ lamented that since 2009, more than 52,250 Christians had been killed in Nigeria, while more than 700 others had been abducted; “with more than 18,000 churches and 2,200 Christian schools burned down by Islamic militants in Nigeria.”

Residents of streets around the Iju rail station in the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State have raised an alarm about the disastrous havoc flood is wreaking in their homes following the construction of the rail station. The residents of the streets including Akinde Street, Isholik Street, Idowu Akinsanya Street and Mokin Street, said some of them had been displaced by the flood while many others still in their houses could no longer sleep during rainfall. They said some residents had been washed away by floods over the years.

Abel Isah, a cadet in the Sokoto Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, who was recently beaten to death by superior officers, has been buried.   Isah was beaten to death by his superior officers for refusing to sign off on incomplete exhibits handed over to him.   SaharaReporters had exclusively reported that two of Isah’s superior officers were angered by his refusal to be part of the illegality and therefore heavily descended on him.
