N.J. college radio station named best in the country

Montclair State University’s radio station, 90.3 WMSC Upper, was named the best college radio station in the country for colleges with over 10,000 students, officials said.
The Essex County college was given the award during the 81st Annual IBS Conference the annual awards ceremony for collegiate broadcasters on Saturday, March 6.
Also taking home awards were Montclair State’s Joshua Tirado for Best Program Director and Kaya Maciak, for Best Business Manager. The school also was given the award for Best Use of Sound Effects from IBS.

FIVE WVC RADIO/TV STUDENTS NOMINATED FOR NATIONAL AWARDS

CARMEL) Wabash Valley College is honored to announce that students from its Radio/TV and Digital Media department have received two national award nominations from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. All coming on the heals of last year, when the Radio/TV Department’s TV station, News Channel 15, was named the nation’s “Best Community College TV Station” by the IBS. This year, five Radio/TV students have been nominated for the IBS’ “Best Video Sports Program.” Branton Beard (Olney), Ian Klingler (Clay City), Drew Pountain (Albion), Eli Grimes (Albion), and Kyler Gammon (Mt. Carmel) are nominated for their local sports show “Sports Extra” as a top six nominee for Best Video Sports Program.
