안산(20‧광주여대)이 2020 도쿄 올림픽 개인전 금메달을 확정한 순간, 한국스포츠 역사가 새로 쓰였다. 한국 하계올림픽 출전 기록을 통틀어 단일 대회에서 금메달 3개를 목에 건 '3관왕'은 안산이 처음이다.
안산은 30일 일본 도쿄 유메노시마 양궁장에서 열린 2020 도쿄 올림픽 양궁 여자 개인전 결승에서 러시아올림픽위원회(ROC)의 엘레나 오시포바를 슛오프 끝에 6-5로 꺾고 우승을 차지했다.
4세트까지 3-5로 밀렸으나 5세트에서 10점을 두 번 쏘는 등 5-5, 승부를 원점으로 돌리더니 슛오프에서 10점 과녁을 맞혀 8점에 그친 오시포바를 눌렀다.
24일 혼성전, 25일 여자 단체전에 이은 안산의 이번 대회 3번째 금메달이다. 양궁이 정식 종목으로 채택된 1988년 서울 대회부터 수많은 태극궁사들이 메달을 땄으나 단일 대회에서 금메달 3개를 수확한 선수는 안산이 처음이다.
양궁은 이번 도쿄 대회부터 혼성전이 신설되면서 3관왕 도전이 가능해졌는데 안산이 최초로 위업을 달성했다.
양궁 3관왕은 안산이 유일하다. 남자부에서 3관왕에 도전했던 김제덕(17‧경북일고)은 27일 개인전 32강에서 덜미를 잡히며 탈락했다.
한국스포츠 사상 하계 올림픽 첫 3관왕의 탄생이기도 했다. 동계올림픽에서는 있었다. 과거 진선유(33)와 안현수(36·러시아명 빅토르 안)가 2006 토리노 동계 올림픽 남녀 쇼트트랙에서 금메달을 3개씩 딴 적은 있었으나 하계 올림픽 3관왕은 1명도 없었다.
한국 선수단이 태극마크를 달고 1948년 런던 대회를 통해 하계 올림픽에 첫 출전한 이래 이뤄낸 쾌거다.
올림픽에 첫 참가한 안산은 첫 경기부터 대형 사고를 쳤다. 23일 여자부 랭킹라운드부터 역대 최고득점인 680점을 기록하며 전체 1위에 올랐다. 종전 기록은 1996년 애틀랜타 대회의 우크라이나의 리나 헤라시멘코가 작성한 673점으로 25년 만에 깨졌다.
이후 안산은 경기를 치를 때마다 발자국을 새롭게 찍었다. 혼성전, 여자 단체전에 이어 개인전까지 금메달을 싹쓸이 하며 이번 대회에서 가장 빛난 별이 됐다.

South Korean Lim Hyo-jun, one of the world's top short-track speed skaters, hopes to compete for Team China at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics after completing the naturalization process to change nationality, according to Yonhap news agency.
The 24-year-old, who won the 1,500m gold medal and the 500m bronze at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, is reportedly concerned he will not be able to represent South Korea in 2022 because of a legal battle he is fighting in his native country. By Sunday afternoon, the Chinese Skating Association had not responded to the reports.
