Semi-swanky burritos in semi-permanent spot on Whitaker Street

One year ago, in a then-maskless world, Chris Dickerson (Squirrel’s Pizza, Corner Taco) gave me the grand tour of his 1965 Airstream trailer that was to become Burrito Royale.
As I wrote at the time, he knew that he did not want to pull the trailer all over town, setting up at sundry sites for special events. Dickerson wanted a lot of his own to herald the return to his food truck roots.
Fast forward and Burrito Royale is now for real, opening on March 12 to serve its “semi-swanky” burritos in its semi-permanent space.
A place to call home
“We leased our own lot, 2508 Whitaker,” Dickerson told me in a phone conversation. The property is right behind Vintage Tone, the former House of Strut home, and just a block south of Starland Yard.
