But hey, at least the day was warm. The clouds, as seen from the Smuts Creek valley near Pekisko, were caused by wind blasting over the mountains to the south. Called lenticular clouds, they’re formed by high-altitude winds blowing over more stable air below and causing eddies where the air masses meet.
