Bridgeman Moves to No. 9 in PGA University Ranking

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson senior Jacob Bridgeman has moved from 13th to ninth in the latest PGA University rankings. It is the highest ranking for Bridgeman, Clemson’s top player the last three seasons. It was also the largest jump among players in the top 15 of the latest rankings.Bridgeman has made the jump off a recent run that has seen him finish in the top four in three consecutive tournaments. First, he finished fourth at the Watersound Invitational at Panama City on Feb. 22. He then won the Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course in Eatonton, Ga. on March 22. Just yesterday he finished third against a national field at the Valspar Collegiate. Over his last nine rounds in these three events he has a 68.22 stroke average.Bridgeman’s performance at the Linger Longer was among the best in Clemson history as he won the tournament by six shots, tied for the largest margin of victory in Clemson history. Bridgeman Has Three-Shot Lead Entering Final Round of Linger Longer

CLEMSON, S.C. Jacob Bridgeman and Colby Patton both shot rounds of six-under-par 66 on Monday to lead Clemson to a four-place improvement in the team standings at the Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Plantation in Eatonton, Ga. Clemson improved from eighth place to fourth with an 11-under-par team score of 277 in the second round, tied for the second best team round in the 15-team field. Sixth-ranked Vanderbilt and 10th ranked Georgia have the team lead at 20-under-par 556, while 19th ranked Florida is third at 12-under par 564. The 22nd ranked Tigers are fourth at 569 and Charlotte is fifth at 572. Fourth-ranked North Carolina, who the Tigers beat by 16 shots on Monday, stands in sixth place at 579. Bridgeman has a three-shot lead in the medalist race after rounds of 67 and 66 to start this tournament. He is three shots ahead of Cole Sherwood of Vanderbilt and Ben Van Wyk of Georgia.
