The Holmes County commissioners approved a resolution to put a renewal of a five-year, 0.25 percent sales tax on the Nov. 2 ballot. The funds will be used to complete the second half of the 10-year resurfacing project that was laid out by Holmes County Engineer Chris Young when the sales tax was first passed in 2016. The current five-year, 0.25 percent sales tax has been in place since 2017, and expires at the end of 2021.
