Wherever You Will Go was a global smash, but overexposure, label drama and a whole host of lawsuits tore the band apart. Two decades later, the splintering still hasn t been mended.
The early 2000s were a whirlwind for The Calling. At the turn of the millennium, the rock band was questioning whether their label would even give them a chance. By mid-2002, they had a 23-week Adult Top 40 No. 1 with the heartfelt hit “Wherever You Will Go.” In 2003, they were sued by former bandmates. And by the end of 2005, The Calling had almost completely vanished stateside. ....

South Ockendon starlet Grace reaches grand final of The Voice


Former South Essex College student Grace Holden is through to the final of ITV’s The Voice.
The 18-year-old was chosen by viewers on Saturday to represent team Olly Murs in the grand final.
She will battle against three other acts on Saturday, March 20 at 8.30pm on ITV.
Last week she gave us all the feels with her stunning version of ‘Wherever You Will Go’ by The Calling. Cheered on by her dad and brothers, she was ecstatic to nab fellow Essex singer Olly as her coach.
Grace stepped out alongside Chantelle Padden to perform a beautiful version of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Breakaway’. With her Dad cheering on from the crowd, Grace sang her heart out and took her place in the semi-finals. ....
