for a 79th inning miracle. >> all right, mariana attendancea. mariana stay safe. we are joined now on the phone by william capote. he's the mayor of palm bay florida, which is along that atlantic coast. how is your city preparing for the effects of this storm? >> right now i'm listening to your show at the same time and i was glad i believe his name was phil saying that he's going to stay out there on the northwest and it's not going to come out close to this area. but at the same time as you heard about cocoa beach and mayor malik worried about what could transpire at his location. but here we are saying to ourselves best case scenario we get a tropical storm. worst-case scenario it's a category 3-4.

joining me right now, william capote, mayor of palm bay, florida, which is kind of sandwiched in between west palm beach and melbourne, florida. mr. mayor, what are you most concerned about with this unpredictable path of this storm? >> the surge. really on the other side, where we call the barrier island, inland here it's the winds that will get us from the right side as it swirls through. hopefully it stays out like you're mentioning, but even matthew we had power outage with matthew here, and matthew packed the same kind of impact as dorian. >> mm-hmm, so tell me about your population there. these, you know, folks who are -- who have been subjected to a lot -- >> we're 102,000. yes, yes, everybody's getting prepared. we're about 102,000 residents here in palm bay.
>> joining me now by phone is william capote, mayor of palm bay, florida. mayor, thanks very much for joining us because we know this is a very busy time. when you saw that this hurricane is now a category four, what was your reaction? >> wow. here we go again. matthew, that's the first thing that came to mind. not so much irma, because irma came from the keys. but matthew had the similar trajectory. and luckily, it veered into the ocean 25 and missed us. but we felt the winds then. >> what's the trajectory as you see it now? models have it going all over the place. it logistics like much of florida could be blanketed. but what is the trajectory for palm bay right now? >> we're in that line, because that room for error, i think maps would show brevard county
