Proposed maps cut Galesburg from 4 lawmakers in Springfield to 2, Hammond and Swanson to face-off

Under the redistricting maps that Democratic lawmakers released last week, Galesburg would go from the four lawmakers that represent at least a portion of Galesburg to two. The map currently has Galesburg divided into two separate Senate Districts and two separate House Districts. The proposed maps have Alpha and Macomb in the same district. That means Republican State Reps. Dan Swanson and Norine Hammond would have to face off to retain a seat in the House.
