BBCNEWS Italys Sunken City December 19, 2020

Special, either on bbc one or the bbc news channel. Our coverage begins at 3 30pm this afternoon. The announcement is coming from downing street. In a News Conference, the Prime Minister, his chief medical and scientific advisers will be there. We will see you then. In the meantime, if you are heading out, for a socially distanced walk in the park, here is the weather. It is one of those showery kinds of days where most places will see a downpour or two. We currently have 38 flood warnings in force, so we do not really need any in force, so we do not really need a ny extra in force, so we do not really need any extra rain. Todays rain will probably not make too much of a difference because it is showery in nature. The showers are pretty widespread. Overnight, the strong gusty south westerly winds will be particularly wet over

Worm Propagation in Wireless Sensor Networks

A recent study in Scientific Reports introduces a stochastic SEIRS model to dissect the intricate dynamics of worm transmission in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). By integrating environmental randomness, the research uncovers critical insights into malware propagation, paving the way for proactive control strategies to fortify network security against malicious attacks. ....

"Schwarz Information Criterion Based Thompson Sampling for Dynamic Spec" by Ming He, Ming Jin et al.

The listen before talk (LBT) mechanism is often used in dynamic spectrum access (DSA) schemes, which requires secondary users (SUs) to perform spectrum sensing before accessing a channel so as to avoid transmission collisions with primary users (PUs). In the scenario of DSA with multiple PU channels, channel sensing order according to the idle probabilities of PU channels is important for SUs to improve the spectrum efficiency. However, conventional DSA schemes are sluggish in updating the estimates of idle probabilities sequentially, which hinders their application in highly dynamic channels (with time-varying idle probabilities). To overcome this issue, we propose a change detection algorithm with a binary hypothesis testing of Schwarz Information Criterion (SIC), and present an SIC based Thompson Sampling Algorithm (SIC-TSA) to promptly update the estimates of idle probabilities. Moreover, the collision probabilities among SUs are analyzed. Numerical results are provided to show tha ....
