a commercial space plane fell apart during a test fly in california. photos from the ground show the engine igniting after it was released from the launch plane. one pilot was killed, the other ejected but seriously injured. the ntsb investigation is already under way. we re joined live with more on the failed flight, good evening. virgin galactic found the aircraft known as spaceship two was under development. he offered condolences and praised the courage of the test pie pilots. we do understand the risks involved, and we re not going to push on blindly. to do so would be an insult to all those affected by this tragedy. reporter: the virgin galactic spacecraft crashed after what the company called an in-flight anomaly after a test flight on friday. we re determined to honor the bravery of the pilots and the teams here by learning from this tragedy. only then can we move forward, united by a collective desire to push the boundaries of human endeavor. reporter ....
