Get those Mickey ears ready, Disneyland has officially announced its reopening date! Guests will now be able to visit Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure with limited capacity starting on April 30th. The parks have been close for over a year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As of right now, the park will only be open to California residents and you must book your tickets in advance. According to the president of the Disneyland Resort, Ken Potrock, he stated " The day all of us have long been waiting for is almost here,We're excited to have more than 10,000 cast members returning to work as we get ready to welcome our guests back to this happy place."

The California Attractions and Park Association is supporting a plan to help stop the spread of the coronavirus by asking guests not to scream on park rides. According to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, it calls for California businesses to limit activities like shouting and raised voices that are known to cause increased spread of COVID-19. CAPA states that California theme parks can mitigate the effects of shouting through the use of mandatory face coverings and modified seat loading patterns on rides. The concern is that microscopic droplets of saliva released from riders mouths when they scream could fly into riders in the rear seats.
