Police appeal after man stabbed in Lincoln
No arrests yet
A man has sustained stab wounds after an incident in Lincoln on Friday morning.
It happened at around 11.17am on St Rumbold’s Street near the YMCA building on May 7.
It involved two men as they came from the Select and Save store and police were making door to door enquiries.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injury is not thought to be serious.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Lincolnshire Police would like to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with information to assist their enquiry, to get in touch on 101 with reference number 139 of May 7. ....

Butlers with Bums and Adonis Cabaret are on the lookout for Lincolnshire “guys with buff bodies to help keep hen party celebrators from disappointment”.
The two companies specialise in serving up naked butlers and have launched a recruitment drive to get more guys on board.
They are looking for buff guys ranging from 23-38 years old to get mingling with hen do guests galore, serving up canapés and drinks and posing for photos. Gym enthusiasts and fitness lovers are being encouraged to apply. ....

Part of Horncastle Railway Station, which was demolished 40 years ago, has survived and is still in use, according to the town’s History and Heritage Society.
A significant part of the building, which was demolished in 1985 to make way for new premises for Bush Tyres, is still in use for its original purpose. ....

Exhibition to mark 50 years since Horncastle railway closed

For Horncastle and Woodhall Spa, it was the end of the line for a service that had begun in 1855.
Despite opposition, daily passenger services ceased on September 13, 1954.
A special service, organised by railway enthusiasts, ran 10 years later, bringing the largest steam locomotive ever seen in Horncastle to the branch. From then, only goods trains ran, with the crew opening and closing level crossing gates and changing the points on the seven-and-a-half mile run from Woodhall Junction. ....

A RECENT Looking Back picture triggered some happy memories for former Lancashire Evening Telegraph journalist Chris Bates.
It also encouraged him to see if Looking Back readers can help him in a quest to unearth some particular railway memorabilia.
We’ll let Chris take up the story:
“In 1967, I moved to Blackburn from my native Lincolnshire to work on the Evening (as it was then) Telegraph and to my great delight, not only did the newsroom offer a panoramic view of the railway station and its approaches, but also many of the trains were still pulled by steam locomotives.
They had vanished from Lincolnshire’s railways two or three years previously, so for me as a railway enthusiast from a railway family, this was an added bonus to the many pleasures of working in Lancashire. ....
