2 men killed after boom on concrete pump truck breaks at work site on Gabriola Island Two men have died in a workplace accident on Gabriola Island today. At 10:49 am, police and emergency services were called to the site for reports of a serious incident. Police explained that the boom on a concrete pump truck broke and landed on two workers at a construction site on Taylor Road. Sadly, both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.
