We are indebted to the late Pike County historian William F. Henn, who compiled much information for his small book, The Mills of Milford in 1968, drawing from many sources. Crews were on the scene for nearly 10 hours on Sunday containing an out-of-control brush fire near Jordan. There were no injuries or structural damage from the fire near the Baxter/Izard county line on Arkansas Highway 177 by Yellow Pine Trail. According to Rodney-Jordan Fire Chief Mike Slice, the fire started around 10:45 Sunday morning. Six Rodney-Jordan firefighters were joined on the scene by crews from the Pineville Fire Department and the Arkansas Forestry Commission. The cause is yet to be determined. WebReady
