Returning more determined than ever: Q&A with South Melbourne's Matthew Loutrakis

Matthew Loutrakis may be part of the furniture at South Melbourne FC after nine years with the club, but is a new exciting fixture on the men’s senior team.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been playing soccer earlier than he could string his first sentence together, with his family by his side encouraging him all the way through.
“My dad pushed me and helped me become the footballer I am and the man I am and growing up to be,” Loutrakis told
Neos Kosmos.
Of course after so many years on the pitch, its common for some youngsters to lose their love and drive for the game, or even be tempted to hitting the town for the night rather than hitting the pillow before game day.

COVID-inspired headache over A League fixture list goes on

9 April 2021 12:13pm
COVID-19 continues to cause fixture problems for the A League schedule this season with Football Australia saying it hopes that the regular season will be completed by May with finals to be held in June.
According to sportingnews.com, the best way to stay in touch with the fixture list is to check online weekly to ensure scheduled matches are set to go ahead as planned for that week.
The weekend’s games begin with Macarthur FC set to face Brisbane Roar tonight (Friday, 9April) at 7.05pm.
For Saturday, 10 April, Newcastle Jets play Melbourne Victory at 3.05pm, Sydney FC face Melbourne City at 5.05pm and Adelaide United take on Western Sydney Wanderers at 7.10pm.

Q&A with South Melbourne FC graduate Yianni Panakos

Fresh out of the juniors, 17-year-old Yianni Panakos has been snapped up by the Seniors at South Melbourne FC, moving up in the team he has proudly been a part of since he joined the under nines.
It was only earlier this month that the young forward was signed to the seniors team, but already has big goals for his future.
“I’m not quite sure where I see myself…obviously the goal is to become a professional soccer player but it’s easier said than done. Hopefully within the next few years, I’d be somewhere overseas doing the thing that I love,” Panakos tells
