Reprint of special issue on Mangalurean Christians released Mon, Dec 28 2020 05:08:40 PM Media Release Mangaluru, Dec 28: A 17-page reprint of The Illustrated Weekly of India dated December 27, 1970, with special articles on Mangalurean Catholics written by Mangalureans, was released at Johnlyn Cottage, the residence of John B Monteiro, noted author and journalist in English, and the main contributor for the special issue published 50 years ago. It was also to recall and laud the initiative of Stan Rebello, a publishing professional, who passed away on January 12, 2019. The reprint was released by William Pais, author of the illustrated coffee table book The Land Called South Kanara, (comprising of old Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts) which has seen repeated editions; he is also the owner of Orchid Art Gallery in Mangaluru.
