EPHRATA – Ephrata Golf Coach Greg Hewitt said he expects both the 12 girls and 14 boys on the Tigers golf team to perform well this year as he works to move the team into competition this spring, despite it being a “reload year” for the team.
“This is a reloading year and we’re not considering that for the boys,” he said, “We’re considering it as we are reloading and the expectations are still there.”
TACOMA – Nearly 70 wrestlers traveled from the Columbia Basin to Tacoma to compete in the Mat Classic last week, with 37 wrestlers reaching the podium in their respective classifications.

EPHRATA – After defeating Quincy earlier last week, the Ephrata Tigers fell 48-30 in a home dual against Ellensburg Thursday night, Ephrata’s first Central Washington Athletic Conference match of the year.
“Ellensburg just brought a little more intensity tonight than we did,” Ephrata boys wrestling coach Joe Knox said. “They really came to wrestle. Maybe we weren’t as ready as we should have been, and at the end of the day that’s my responsibility.” .
