Zomato delivery executive Kamaraj, who was accused by Hitesha Chandranee of assault, lodged a formal complaint against her on Monday (March 15).
In the FIR, Kamaraj has accused Hitesha of hitting him with slippers, falsely accusing him of hitting her, assaulting, defaming him, and hurling abuses at him. Kamaraj has filed an FIR at Electronic City Police Station in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Bengaluru: An FIR has been registered against Instagram influencer Hitesha Chandranee, who had accused Zomato delivery executive Kamaraj of attacking her, in Karnataka's Bengaluru. On the basis of a complaint lodged by Kamaraj, she has been booked under sections 355 (assault), 504 (insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Food delivery platform Zomato has issued a statement in the Bengaluru assault case, saying it's providing all possible support to both the suspect and the victim. "We are in constant touch with Hitesha (the complainant), covering her medical expenses, and helping her with the proceedings," Zomato said. The food delivery start-up said it's providing all possible support to alleged accused Kamaraj "to make sure both sides of the story come to light and due process is followed in the spirit of fairness."

Hitesha Chandrani, a Bengaluru-based woman, shared a video on Instagram alleging that the Zomato delivery boy attacked her and injured her. The video instantly went viral on social media and the matter quickly accelerated. The delivery man named Kamaraj was delisted by the food delivery app and soon after Bengaluru police arrested him. Now a version of the delivery boy has also surfaced, which the woman accused of punching. Denying the allegations, Kamaraj said that he is innocent and the woman had hit her nose with her own ring.
