This letter is to stand up for the people who live along the “Kanner Corridor.’ Poppleton Creek, Indian Grove, Winnachee Drive, First Methodist area, Manor Drive, Townhomes of Stuart, Tierra Verde, Monterey Yacht &CC, de la Bahia, Leisure Village, Hideaway Place, Cabana Point, Watercress Way, Riverland, White Marsh Reserve, Fishermans Cove, South River, Martin’s Crossing, Banyan Bay, Osprey Ridge, Linden Street, Southwood, Appaloosa Street, Stardust Place, Fairmont Estates . Reliable water supply should be a top priority for commissioners
Monday saw yet another water main break in Jensen Beach along Indian River Drive. Water main breaks are becoming more common and will soon reach a crisis point as our county government fails to replace the aging infrastructure.
Instead, our government is far more concerned with subsidizing money pits like the public golf course, the water park and their newest failure the mooring field in Jensen Beach. From these boondoggles to the new expensive live-edge bar at the Stuart Beach to enhance the tourist experience, our commissioners are fiddling while Martin County burns. I am sick of watching our tax dollars being thrown after these and other unnecessary projects, while a reliable water supply for residents seems to be at the bottom of their list of priorities. Think about that the next time you once again have to boil all the water ....
