A NEW phone app has been launched to make life easier for bookworms who use the Fraser Coastâs libraries.
Fraser Coast Regional Council s David Lewis said the app would provide many benefits.
âMembers wonât have to carry their library cards because their barcode will be recorded on the app,â Councillor Lewis said.
âLibrary users will also be able to link family members and friends, with their permission of course, on the app to make it easier to loan items on their behalf which will be a big help to parents borrowing for children.â
Cr Lewis said people with the latest mobile phones would also be able to use their devices to borrow books and other materials, simply by holding the items close to their phone. ....

The top 10 most borrowed adult fiction books in 2020 from the Fraser Coast Libraries reveal usersâ love of crime and mystery stories with Lee Child novels taking out three of the top five spots.
Councillor David Lewis said crime and mystery writers also featured strongly in the list of the top 10 most popular authors of 2020 with James Patterson in the number one position.
âFemale writers hold an equal number of spots in the top 10 list of most borrowed authors,â Cr Lewis said.
âRomance and fantasy writer Nora Roberts appears in the number two ranking and again in the ninth slot under her crime writing pseudonym of J.D. Robb. ....
