Malibongwe Dayimani Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane says the province is in the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The province has unveiled an R80m state-of-the-art 100 bed modular unit sponsored by Siemens to treat Covid-19 patients. When the pandemic is over, the unit, will be able to provide maternity care and treat chronically ill patients. While projections had shown that the third wave would hit the Eastern Cape in July, the Eastern Cape is already in it, Premier Oscar Mabuyane said on Friday. It s no longer a story. A CHARITY had a pleasant surprise when staff members from the Santander bank in Evesham delivered 60 Easter eggs. Staff at the Evesham branch decided to provide Easter eggs to the charity after seeing an increase in families using food banks during the pandemic. Rebecca, who works in the bank, said: “With the need to use food banks on the rise, the team at Santander decided to raise donations of Easter eggs for Caring Hands charity in the Vale.We had such a great response to this, with Home Bargains in the town donating the trolley as well as five eggs, as well as a large amount from the community. ....
