Eliminating SAT and ACT makes admission process fairer this year, here is how © Provided by The Times of India Owing to the Covid crisis last year, universities in the United States had scrapped the standardised test requirements for admission to the varsities. This year too, the University of California has decided not to consider SAT and ACT scores for admitting students. The decision comes as a coalition of students and advocacy groups filed a lawsuit against the university’s standardised test scores. The stakeholders have long argued that the test is biased towards wealthy students and puts minority and low-income candidates at a disadvantage. Privileged students are able to take better preparation courses and fare better scores than other students.
