Kanpur: Dr Nikhil Agarwal has been appointed as CEO of Centre for Cyber Security and Cyber Security of Cyber Physical Systems Innovation Hub (C3i Hub) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
This is in addition to his existing role as CEO at Foundation for Innovation & Research in Science & Technology (FIRST- IITK). Dr Agarwal brings over two decades of rich experience of working in academia, government and industry. An MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge and PhD in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies (STIS) from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, Dr Agarwal is the former CEO, Innovation Society, Government of Andhra Pradesh. His expertise lies in strategic planning and advisory and fostering innovation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. ....

PNB joins hands with IIT Kanpur to set up Fintech Innovation Centre

Punjab National Bank on Thursday announced an alliance with IIT Kanpur and the Foundation for Innovation & Research in Science & Technology (FIRST) for establishing an innovation centre at the institute s campus.
Under this partnership, PNB and IIT Kanpur will set up a Fintech Innovation Centre (FIC) as a vehicle to research and develop technological solutions to address challenges and explore opportunities in the BFSI space, the bank said in a statement.
PNB intends to create new products or solutions with technological innovations by creating a FIC involving IITK s experienced faculty members with the help of FIRST, it said.
The collaboration of technical prowess from IIT Kanpur and financial expertise of PNB make it an apt Fin-Tech partnership that will help build innovations and entrepreneurial excellence, it said, adding, the FIC will be supported by a holistic ecosystem of financial institutions, academia, VC funds, technology companies and key government ....

Punjab National Bank (PNB), the country’s second largest public sector bank, has announced an alliance with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and FIRST (Foundation for Innovation & Research in Science & Technology), to jointly establish the Punjab National Bank - IIT Kanpur Innovation Centre at the IIT campus.
An MoU for this purpose was signed at the PNB Head Quarters, Dwarka, New Delhi, in the presence of CH S S Mallikarjunarao, MD & CEO of PNB and top officials from the Bank, IIT Kanpur & FIRST.
Under this partnership, PNB and IIT-Kanpur will set up a “Fintech Innovation Centre (FIC)” as a vehicle to research and develop technological solutions to explore opportunities in the BFSI space, a release issued by the bank said. ....
