In President Trump’s final week in office, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed a rule to either modify the label requirement for E15 on fuel dispensers or eliminate it entirely.
The agency cited suggestions from biofuel groups that “the existing E15 label is no longer necessary and simply interferes with additional growth of E15 in the marketplace” and that changing the color and language on the label “would increase lawful use” of the fuel. Right now, a bright orange label is used, warning consumers in various-sized fonts to only use the fuel in certain veh ....

ACE Pleased With Second Round Of Higher Biofuel Blend Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued the second round of grants available through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program. American Coalition For Ethanol’s Senior Vice President Ron Lamberty is pleased USDA is moving ahead with it.
He says by getting more infrastructure out for higher ethanol blends it should help increase consumer usage of E-15.
Lamberty says by providing more ethanol to consumers it fits in well with the incoming President’s focus on addressing climate change and improving the environment.
In making the second round announcement Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said that ethanol and biofuels industries have positive impacts they deliver to consumers and farmers with an affordable, abundant and clean burning fuel. ....

USDA opens about $22M in funding for higher ethanol and biodiesel blends : Biofuels Digest

th with about $22 million available to fueling stations, terminal operations, depots and similar entities for higher ethanol blends than E10 and higher biodiesel blends than B5.
The purpose of the HBIIP is to increase significantly the sales and use of higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel by expanding the infrastructure for renewable fuels derived from U.S. agricultural products.
The program is also intended to encourage a more comprehensive approach to market higher blends by sharing the costs related to building out biofuel-related infrastructure.
Awards to successful applicants will be in the form of cost-share grants for up to 50 percent of total eligible project costs, but not to exceed $3 million, whichever is less. ....
