HomeAid Houston and two GHBA Remodelers Council members, Gryphon Builders and Jeff Hunt Construction are combining resources to make renovations at the Krause Children’s Center, a Katy area residential treatment center for girls in crisis, ages 12 to 17. Allen Griffin, president of Gryphon Builders and Jeff Hunt, owner of Jeff Hunt Construction are pooling their vendor and supplier contacts along with several other RMC members to remodel a restroom in the lobby area of the Center. The building itself is dated, so plumbing and aesthetics are being upgraded and redesigned. Construction is slated to begin by late summer. ....

The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), Benefit Homes Project has raised more than $12 million for local charities since its inception in 1980. The current beneficiaries are HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. This would not be possible without the donations of construction materials, supplies and services by GHBA members.
Hundreds of companies have been contributors throughout the history of the Project, and many have donated in multiple years. One such company is Builders Post-Tension. As the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Benefit Homes Project wraps up for 2021, HomeAid Houston, one of two charities that benefit from this 41-year-old fundraiser, will be attending a luncheon in May that celebrates and honors the vendors and suppliers that donated to the Project.
The Benefit home was built by Chesmar Homes with donated materials and services by GHBA members. The lot was donated by Land Tejas in Lago Mar. This allowed the home to be sold at a profit with proceeds from the sale going to HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. HomeAid became a recipient of the Benefit Homes fundraiser in 2007 and has, as of February 2021, received ....

HomeAid Houston, a 501(c)(3) charity of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), recently announced their 2021 builder for its annual Project Playhouse fundraiser, a charitable collaboration with the Astros Foundation that has raised more than $1 million since its inception in 2006. HomeAid is partnering with Legend Homes on this 15th playhouse for HomeAid projects. Legend Homes’ entire organization will be taking part in creating the playhouse, from design through to construction.

The challenges associated with a global pandemic can affect charities at their most vulnerable and most important efforts, that is fundraising. In spite of this, HomeAid continues to receive unexpected donations from various sources, most of which are past contributors. Over the past several months HomeAid is honored to have received donations from local organizations and individuals who appreciate their donations will go toward current and future project development and project completions.
HomeAid received a donation of $5,000 to the HomeAid Heroes program for 2021 from Bank of America. A check for $4,000 was presented to HomeAid by Taylor Morrison from the Taylor Morrison Foundation, to support ongoing projects.
