th marks a special day for some.  For those of you who are aware, I have covered the case of TransPerfect in Delaware for years now, and to this day, it remains the longest-running case in the Delaware Chancery Court.  The story is a bizarre tale of what seemed to be a simple corporate break up between two owners, but in essence, has become an example of government overreach, lackluster oversight of the courts and brazen abuse of power to enrich friends of the various insiders within the Delaware system.
So why is today, April 30
th special? Yet again, Governor John Carney disregarded pleas for racial diversity in the Chancery Court through the recent nomination of former Skadden Arps lawyer Lori Will to join the Court as a Vice Chancellor, replacing outgoing Chancellor Andre Bouchard, while picking current Vice Chancellor Kathleen McCormick to rise to Chancellor.
On April 9, 2021, Governor John Carney nominated Lori Will, a white woman, to replace the open seat left by Chancellor Andre Bouchard. Gov. John Carney on Friday announced judicial nominations, which will be sent to the Delaware Senate for consideration. Nominations include the head of one of the nation’s top business courts.
Vice Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick will be nominated to serve as Chancellor.

McCormick would be the first woman to serve as Chancellor and replace Chancellor Andre Bouchard, retiring.
