Don t show the them Chris Rock s famous video,

As a result, six black lawmakers are calling for his removal.
Rock s video, a spoof of a driver training video, makes the point that many confrontations with police are not caused by racism, they re caused by stupidity or criminal behavior on the part of the suspect. He even goes so far as to say that Rodney King should have stopped his car, rather than speeding away at 110 MPH. You can see the video here, or try this direct link in AVI  format. [Strong language, don t play it out loud at work]
Schembri s spokesman, Tom Denham, said it was shown as part of a discussion on racial profiling and Schembri previously used it when teaching college courses to stimulate discussions. ....

When James Dobson was let go as police chief of Opa-locka, Florida – a small city of 16,000 in Miami-Dade County – it was because of high crime rates and his lack of progress in turning around a troubled department, according to an article in the Miami Herald.
Four months later, he was one of the applicants to be the next chief of the Albuquerque Police Department – as is the man who fired him, Opa-locka City Manager John Pate.
Pate and Dobson were two of 39 candidates who had applied to be the city’s next top cop. When reached by phone Thursday, Dobson said he removed his name from consideration earlier this week because the move would be too much for his family. ....

Applicants to Replace Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina

The City of Miami Police Department (MPD) will get a new top cop next year, and more than 30 applicants from around the U.S. have thrown their hats into the ring to replace the current chief of police, Jorge Colina.
Colina, a 30-year veteran of the MPD, has led the department for three years. Earlier this year, he announced that he would step down in January, sparking a nationwide search for a replacement.
The search comes on the heels of major unrest and increased scrutiny of American police departments following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. Colina himself came under fire this year when he was accused in June of using the N-word during a law-enforcement training session in 1997, and in September when he was named in a lawsuit alleging widespread corruption in the MPD by a fired detective who testified against another officer in an FBI investigation. ....

The Court must examine whether at the time of the commission of the crime, the accused could have resisted from carrying out the offence. This was held in Il-Pulizija -v- Arouna Sow decided on 4 December 2020 by Magistrate Dr Monica Vella.
Sow was accused of causing slight bodily harm to 3 persons and breaking the public peace. The Court analysed the evidence. The inspector who prosecuted the case testified and explained that on 27 June 2020 at 11.30 am, the Msida police station received a telephone call that a person had attacked some people in Msida. The police arrested the man. At first, they thought he was under the influence of a drug but at Mater Dei Hospital, the doctors recommended that he be taken to a psychiatrist.
