An intelligence driven operation was conducted yesterday on the R69, Vryheid/Hlobane Road next to Shoma Settlement. While the police officers were busy, they spotted a suspicious bakkie travelling on the same route and it was intercepted. Upon searching the said vehicle, the police discovered bales of counterfeit sneakers at the back of the bakkie. Various brands of counterfeit takkies were seized by police. A 30-year-old suspect was placed under arrest. The total value of the recovered goods is R700 000-00. The suspect is appearing before the Vryheid Magistrates’ Court today for possession of counterfeit goods. ....

The Suspect Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have seized 34,950 capsules of Tramadol and Diazepam in Lagos. The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the drugs are meant for delivery to Boko Haram insurgents in Borno. He said a 25-year-old suspect, Mohammed Isah, who was recruited to move the drugs from Lagos to Borno was arrested at a motor park in Agege area of Lagos on Tuesday. According to him, the suspect was arrested with 12, 390 capsules of Tramadol (4.8kg) and 22,560 tablets of Diazepam (14kg). ....
