Heavy Rain Possible This Weekend 2/24/21

Somerset, KY, USA / WTLO 1480 AM/97.7 FM | Classic Hits
Feb 24, 2021 11:14 PM
Multiple rounds of rainfall tonight and tomorrow will help to saturate the soil before heavier rain moves into the area late Saturday night into Sunday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts will be possible across the Watch area. Heavy rainfall may cause excess runoff and localized flooding issues in the Watch area. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the entire listening area! A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Below is the latest futurecast, and an official rainfall map from the National Weather Service that shows what areas have the highest potential for flooding rainfall! ....

Partyline Thursday Music Spotlight: Kalyn Beasley | Big Horn Radio Network

Written by Mac Morey on February 25, 2021
This Thursday Music Spotlight on KODI’s “Partyline” featured singer/songwriter Kalyn Beasley, who was born and raised in Cody Wyoming.
Beasley, in his 100th anniversary Cody rodeo jacket and cowboy hat, filled the studio with wonderful music that he described as Americana.
Beasley said that moving to Austin Texas for a few years got him writing more about Wyoming and the cowboy state until he moved back to Cody.
Growing up, Beasley listened to a bit of everything with 90’s country, Elton John, and classic rock all being main inspirations in his journey of being an artist. Him being in a musical family had an impact on him as well. ....

How The Band's Music From Big Pink Opened The Mind Of Brian Cadd

How The Band’s Music From Big Pink Opened The Mind Of Brian Cadd
The Band’s 1968 ‘Music From Big Pink’ was a life-changing recording for Australian singer songwriter Brian Cadd. After hearing an early preview of the album in London in early 1968 Brian’s songwriting changed forever.
“It was mostly because of the extraordinary experience Ronnie Charles and I had in London,” Brian Cadd tells Noise11.com. “We were with The Easybeats in their flat in Earl’s Court and they had a night off. When they had a night off they used to bring their PA, their sound system home and set it up in the Living Room. The neighbours must have been deaf. At around three o’clock in the morning we were all extraordinarily untidy and there was a knock on the door. It was one of the roadies for Cream, the Eric Clapton band. He had just returned from America and he was waving their quarter inch tape saying ‘you have got to listen to this. This is it. Music will never be the same a ....

Q&A On a Year in Quar

This week,
City Weekly asked some questions of the local music community whether they re players themselves, simple fans, or the kind of people who work in other capacities like managing venues, booking shows and otherwise doing the work to make our music scene what it is. We asked: With almost a year of pandemic upon us, what are y all are looking forward to most this year, whether the pandemic ends or not? Trying for hopefulness here, or at least some forward-looking-ness.
Landon Young (@oklandon), local music fan: I m looking forward to starting new band(s) and hopefully seeing a live show before the year s end. 2020 taught me to not take live music and venues for granted especially when touring artists are involved. I think it s going to be wild once things are cleared. The album-to-tour cycle is broken, so anybody that s released an album in the previous two to three years will likely try to tour at the same time. Fewer venues exist, so there ll be stacked shows e ....
