PESHAWAR: The health department is scaling up contact tracing of Covid-19 patients after rise in the number of cases in other provinces as three more died of the pandemic and 150 fresh patients were diagnosed with the virus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.
“National Command and Operation Centre has asked the provinces including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to enhance testing of suspected people, especially the contacts of the confirmed patients in view of the fourth wave of the pandemic,” officials of health department told ....

Rawalpindi : Vice Chancellor Health Services Academy Islamabad Prof Dr. Shehzad Ali Khan here on Sunday said the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have increased to dangerous levels and would further rise amid no change in people’s lifestyle.
“It takes time to change the lifestyle as 90 percent of Pakistanis do not do physical activity and only 10 percent of them only walk or exercise, leading to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) during the last ten years,” said Dr Shehzad while addressing the concluding session of a two-day international conference on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) under the auspices of Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) along with Chairperson, Chancellor Riphah University Rawalpindi Dr. Hassan Mehmood Khan. ....

PESHAWAR: The health department has decided to implement the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) in Charsadda and Kohat districts to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) target set out in the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
“The draft EPHS for UHC Universal Health Coverage has been finalised and will soon be placed before the steering committee headed by the health minister for approval to implement it in Charsadda and Kohat. It is a policy framework for service provision based on the scientific evidence of health interventions and will ensure that all people have access to essential health services particularly in the context of limited resources,” an official told ....
