This week the elected representatives will troop into Parliament to represent the electors. Ostensibly! Frequently, time set aside to ponder over public cause is hijacked by puerile puffery. If the past is to be treated as the prologue, the four-week Monsoon Session will witness high political drama and the amplification of allegations and counter-allegations ricocheting off the walls of the 1927 edifice. On April 10, the daughter of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi posted a picture of her April 6 resignation letter from the board of SME Corporation, which she was appointed to. The accompanying text hinted at the politics her father Ahmad Zahid is facing within Umno. The post I was appointed to, I now step down voluntarily. The post for which you are chosen must be defended! My question is who does not have the guts now? stated Nurulhidayah, in the post accompanying her resignation letter. ....
